Most problems arise from birds trying to establish dominance over you. There are times when hormones flair or bad days arise that a parrot is better not handled for a short period. Parrots get through this but owners remember being bit. Frustrated they sell or lock their bird in a cage. A parrot bought for companionship turns into a terrible
disappointment to you, and makes a very unhappy pet.

The job is twofold, owner learning how to work with their bird, and the bird trusting reasonable guidelines set by the owner. In most cases this can be corrected so you and your bird are friends again.
